As a die-hard Too Faced fan I had to get my hands on the latest mega-palette in their collection. So folks, here’s my Too Faced Natural Lust review & swatches…
When it comes to new releases, there’s few other brands who do it with as much fun and beauty as Too Faced. Everything from their packaging to their product theme is always so different and pushing the boundaries of what we know to be ‘every day beauty’. Which I personally love. I’m never going to be the girl who walks down the street with bright blue eyeshadow one day and then bright green the next – not that there’s anything wrong with that at all. Because if you’re a girl who can and does style that kinda daily look, then I am going to fan girl over you, hard. But it’s not a style I replicate on myself on a daily basis. My everyday style is exactly that, a bit more…everyday. So when brands see the need to create usable, versatile and adaptable products and shades in their ranges – but also add a flair of creativity and a new take on fun, well, then I swoon. And it’s exactly why I love Too Faced.
As if I needed another excuse to add to my eyeshadow palette collection (I really didn’t) Too Faced casually dropped their Natural Lust range and I wanted it all. But mostly I knew I needed the mega palette. Containing 30 brand new shades – yes, they’re all brand new (!) meant I knew this little mama was coming to live with me.
The Natural Lust palette seems to be the sister of the Natural Love palette which I also have and reviewed in full a few years back. It’s still technically a ‘neutral’ toned palette with a natural colour range but this one seems to pack a bit more oomph in the pigment. The payoff is epic in these shades let me tell you!
As I mentioned, the palette contains 30 new shades and there’s a mix of finishes between mattes and shimmers. So you won’t need any other colours when you’re doing your eye make up – you’ll find them all here. In fact when I took this on holiday with me, I didn’t reach for any other powder shadows really, as pretty much all my eye looks used this. It’s so versatile that it offers you the everyday shades and tones to create something subtle and natural and it’s got some sparkly more, sultry shades too which will help amp up your look for the evenings.
The payoff is quite impressive too – not that anyone will be surprised as Too Faced have lovely formulas behind their eyeshadows. The shimmers and dimensional finishes payoff with a bang from just one swipe, and the mattes are lovely with buildable coverage too. They’re not chalky or creamy but rather they sit somewhere nicely in the middle. They blend really well with a good fluffy brush and they don’t clump – which is a winner in my books.
It’s always scary getting a palette as large as this because quite honestly the pans are a little small so I always worry how much product I’ll actually be able to get. My biggest fear is falling in love with a shade and then hitting pan only a few uses later and knowing I can’t buy the colour separately. However because the formula on this is good – not too dry, and the shimmery finishes only need a tiny amount to give full payoff, altogether means the palette should last you well. Or it is for me at least!
So with the quality and performance out of the way, let’s take a look at the swatches because I know that’s what you’re desperate to see anyway. Seeing as there’s so many shades there’s quite a few pictures! But I wanted you to see how pretty all the shades were and how well they perform on the skin.
As you can see there’s a definite ‘style’ across the palette of beautiful everyday natural tones with the odd colour that can pull towards a stronger and more impactful looking eye. It’s one you’ll find yourself reaching for constantly and if you’ve been on the fence then I hope seeing how beautiful these colours are will give you the nudge you need.
